when in need, there’s MRTSA

First the sirens blare, then the traffic slows down and pulls over, and within moments that familiar orage and blue logo flies past your car. Medical Rescue Team South Authority, better known as MRTSA, has provided emergency medical services since 1976 and covers six communities: Baldwin Township, Castle Shannon, Dormont, Green Tree, Mt. Lebanon and Whitehall. Every year it offers memberships, which cover co-pays, deductibles and balances related to ambulance billing to residents in their area, to help offset costs in case of an emergency.

While MRTSA is best known for the ambulance services, the scope of their services is much broader. Standby professionals are available for sporting events throughout the area, ranging from wrestling to ice-skating and everything in between. (Even youth football!) They also deploy a bike team for pedestrian-dense events such as Martha’s Run and Mt. Lebanon’s ULTRA party. The year-long memberships help MRTSA continue its operations.

Individual memberships cost $40 and household memberships cost $60, and include anyone living at your address as well as visitors. Purchase your membership online or call 412-343-5111 for further information.
