FALL 2016 JUNIOR COMMISSIONER  Varsha Venugopal, Lemoyne Avenue, is this fall’s Junior Commissioner. In that role, she will attend commission meetings and report on student activities; in turn, she will report to the high school student council on municipal initiatives. A Mt. Lebanon High School senior, Venugopal is a member of the speech and debate team, president of the Human Rights Club and the Future Business Leaders of America. She will serve through the end of the year.

 

CALL FOR ARTISTS The Mt. Lebanon Junior Womens Club is looking for artists and crafters for its holiday market, Saturday, November 12, from 9 to 2 at Mt. Electronic Recycling Commonwealth Computer Recycling will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, October 22. Recycle computer equipment, cellphones, small appliances, cameras, calculators, typewriters, fax machines, keyboards, computer peripherals and more. A full list of items is at www.ccrcyber.com/events/ [2]. On-site hard drive shredding is $10 per hard drive. Employees will assist with vehicle unloading and removing hard drives from your computer. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Mt. Lebanon Public Library.

 

Piles of Leaves

FALL CLEAN-UP Bring your yard waste—leaves (in paper bags), twigs, shrubs, brush and limbs and branches smaller than three feet—to the Mt. Lebanon Golf Course maintenance facility on Pine Avenue, Saturday, October 8, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. No grass clippings, stones, soil, stumps or plastic bags, please. Before you know it, passersby will be yelling “fantastic yard!”
