Sarah Bolt of Austin Avenue has not yet decided what profession to pursue, but volunteering has helped to target her ambitions toward working with children.
“I’m a part of Young Life,” said the Mt. Lebanon High School sophomore and St. Clair Hospital gift shop assistant. “It is a religion-based youth group.”
Events, such as dances and parties, for special-needs children are a particular focus of the organization.
“They just all get together and do crafts,” she said. “They get to talk to each other.”
Sarah enjoys befriending the children and talking with them to make them feel welcome.
