Way Back: Building Boom

The Liberty Tunnels opened in 1924, creating much easier access to the suburbs south of Pittsburgh. This photo, taken sometime between 1925 and 1928, represents the first building boom in Mt. Lebanon. By 1934, there were 3,460 houses here, and almost 4,000 cars.
