Wanna diorama?
Every year around this time, Mt. Lebanon Public Library hosts a literary Peeps Diorama Contest. And every year here at Mt. Lebanon Magazine, we share the amazing finished dioramas on our Facebook page, but we are sad that we missed out on the fun.
Well, not this year.
In an effort to inspire the community to partake in this unique contest, we thought we would give it a try! Through a combination of careful planning, staff coordination, brainstorming sessions and an abundance of enthusiasm, we created a Game of Thrones-inspired diorama in the spirit of the season (even though winter is coming, obviously).
So how can you enter? Here’s the thing: the contest is intended more for kids, teens and families, which is why we are not officially entering the contest. But if your kid is a bookworm and you are looking for some creative family fun this weekend, you have until this Sunday, March 11, to drop off your diorama. You can view the official rules here.
Next week, from Monday, March 12, to Sunday, March 18, the dioramas will be on display in the library, and the public is invited to come and cast their vote for the “Peep-le’s Choice” Awards (see what they did there?). Last years’ entries included titles such as The Three Muska-Peeps, Harry Peeper and the Deathly Mallows and Mallowline (based on the Madeline series).
What will we see this year? The possibilities are endless. But do stop by the library next week to check them out.
