Parking on Beverly On Thursday, November 10, residents, shoppers and business owners are invited to share their ideas about how to improve  parking in the Beverly Road Business District.

Commercial Districts Manager Eric Milliron and the planning firm of Environmental Planning and Design (EPD) will host a session for merchants from 9 to 10 a,m. and one for residents from 6 to 7:30 p.m., on the second floor of Bado’s Restaurant on Beverly Road. This will be the second round of meetings on the topic, and EPD will share input and data that was collected from the first round, which took place in late October.

There will be one final public meeting on Beverly Road parking, date and time to be determined, when all of the information will be presented and stakeholders can discuss a possible plan of action.

Banners for vets You’ve seen them on light poles in many other communities; the rectangular plastic banners that honor a veteran’s service. Now we’re gearing up to honor Mt. Lebanon vets. The municipality and the Historical Society of Mount Lebanon are partnering to display anywhere from 20 to 45 military banners in the Washington Road Business District.

All Mt. Lebanon veterans are eligible for inclusion in the project. Cost is $100 per banner, which will display the same picture on both sides. The business district has room for 45 banners. The banners would be on display from Memorial Day through Veterans’ Day 2017. If Mt. Lebanon receives more than 45, the banners will be rotated in over the course of the display period. To ensure that the display is as meaningful as possible, the municipality needs a minimum of 20 banners.

In order to have the banners up by Memorial Day, Mt. Lebanon needs all applications and photos to be submitted by April 28, 2017. Budget 2017 The 2017 Manager’s Recommended Budget will be available for viewing on November 1. Paper copies of the budget will be at the Mt. Lebanon Library and the Mt. Lebanon Customer Service Center, in the lobby of the municipal building. You can also view the budget online at www.mtlebanon.org on and after November 1.

The commissioners will hold budget workshops at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, Monday, November 14, and Wednesday, November 16, in Room C of the municipal building.

Public hearings are at the 8 p.m commission meetings on Tuesday, November 8, and Tuesday, December 13. Following the December 13 hearing, the commission will vote on whether to adopt the budget. Video of all meetings will be posted online at www.mtlebanon.org the day following the meeting.
