CELEBRATING DR. KING From 11 to noon on Saturday, February 11, historical researcher Susan Cannavino will present The Extraordinary Life of Martin Luther King, a look at the civil rights leader’s childhood, adult relationships and family values and how they informed his career.

The online-only presentation will be conducted via Zoom, and registration is required. Register online in the events calendar section of the library’s website.

AUGUST ALL YEAR LONG Beginning on Tuesday, February 7 and continuing all year, the Century Cycle Reading Group will discuss the 10 plays of August Wilson that comprise the Century Cycle, so named because each play takes place in a different decade of the 20th century. All of the plays take place in Pittsburgh and offer a unique view of the Black experience here. The discussions will be at the library from 7 to 8 p.m., the first Tuesday of each month through November. First up is Gem of the Ocean, set in the Hill District in 1904.

WOMEN’S CONVERSATION GROUP From 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, January 11, the Mt. Lebanon Public Library is hosting an international women’s conversation group. The group welcomes women who have moved here from another country to learn about community activities and services. The program, done in cooperation with Literacy Pittsburgh, will include tea and snacks. All women are welcome to meet their new neighbors from around the world, share information about our community, and learn more about the diverse cultures that enrich Mt. Lebanon.
