HALLOWEEN PROGRAMS The library is planning a bunch of fun things for all ages. Check the calendar [1] section of the library’s website for more programs.
Craft programs for teens include Spooky Pin Making at 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, and Haunted Zombie Tea Tin Terrariums, same time the following week, and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, Dungeons & Dragons players can embark on a haunted road trip.
Adult programs include Ghosts and Legends of Western Pennsylvania from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday October 25, at the library. Author and Duquesne University history professor Thomas White will share local ghost stories and legends. Registration is required.
At 7 p.m., Thursday, October 27, the library is screening Carnival of Souls, a cult classic from 1962 that ends with a terrifying reveal. Registration is required.
BOOK TALK Do you like to read? Do you like to talk? Do you like to talk about what you like to read? The Mt. Lebanon Public Library might have something for you.
The Mystery Reader’s book club meets at 7 p.m., on the third Tuesday of each month. This month’s featured book is Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke. Rounding out the year will be Conviction by Denise Mina on November 15, and Richard Osman’s The Man Who Died Twice on December 20.
The Well Read Women book club meets every other month either virtually, or in person at various locations. At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, (location to be determined), the club will discuss The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. Follow Well Read Women Mt. Lebanon on Facebook [2] for more information.
The Lunch and Munch book club meets at lunchtime and features history and historical fiction. At noon on Wednesday, November 16, the club will discuss Stanley Tucci’s memoir, Taste: My Life Through Food. Lunch and Munch is co-sponsored by the Mt. Lebanon Lions Club.
Science fiction fans can meet for a novel and short fiction discussion group at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the library. This month’s topics are Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s The Disappeared: A Retrieval Artist Novel; With the Knight Male by Charles Sheffield and How-2 by Clifford Simak.
