Stay Home and Read In celebration of National Library Week, the Friends of Mt. Lebanon Public Library is hosting a virtual fundraising gala. On Saturday, April 10, the Mt. Lebanon Public Library invites readers to make a donation and share photos of themselves reading in their favorite spots. Click on the Stay at Home and Read Gala tab at www.mtlebanonlibrary.org [1] to be directed to the Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Public Library donation page. Make a donation any time leading up to or on April 10. Donations start at just $5 to participate. On April 10, share a picture of yourself reading on the library’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram page, or email it to nielsenm@einetwork.net [2] and let the library post it for you.
National Poetry Month Celebrate with the Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s Virtual Speaker Series, featuring Pittsburgh poet and teacher Cameron Barnett at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 22. Barnett holds an MFA from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was poetry editor for Hot Metal Bridge Literary Magazine, co-coordinator of Pitt’s Speakeasy Reading Series, and winner of the 2014 University of Pittsburgh/Academy of American Poets Graduate Poetry Award. His work has appeared in or is forthcoming from Superstition Review, Rattle, TriQuarterly, and IDK Magazine, among others. He currently serves as an editor for Pittsburgh Poetry Journal.
