MONEY FOR MUSIC Mt. Lebanon Public Library received a $3,500 state grant from Waste Management, through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, whichgives tax credits to companies that fund educational programs.
Teen Services Librarian Katie Donahoe plans to use the money to buy musical instruments and take-home instrument-building kits for the Teen Sound Studio program.
“I am really looking forward to doing more music programs with the kids,” Donahoe said.
“Young people truly crave that connection through music,” she added, “and, since they can’t practice with their fellow student musicians at school at the moment, I’m glad to have the funds to offer them an alternative outlet.”
