DECK THE HALLS In December, the library will bloom with fabulous pots of red, pink and white poinsettias thanks to the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon-Castle Shannon Rotary Club. The annual Poinsettia Sale will begin in early December and run as long as supplies last. The 6 1/2 inch, foil-wrapped pots are $10 each.  Please call the library at 412-531-1912 to see when the poinsettias will be delivered.

IT’S CHILI OUT THERE  Tickets for the library’s annual Brews for a Chili Night will go on sale in early December. Tickets make a fabulous holiday gift!  The event will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, January 30. Plans are still in the works, but attendees can anticipate tasting many fine regional ales, lagers, stouts and ciders; a savory variety of flavorful chilis from local restaurants and home chefs; and live music. Tickets—available at the library and on the library’s website—are $35 (or $50 for those wishing to make a larger gift to the library). This event always sells out; buy early.

THE COUNTDOWN Get ready for the New Year with a countdown to 12 o’clock-…noon, that is! Mt. Lebanon Library’s Happy Noon Year is 11 a.m., Thursday, December 31. This family friendly event includes stories, songs, treats and crafts, to welcome the New Year.
