The Korner Pub is making a comeback
A longtime Lebo landmark is returning in a new form and under new management.
The metamorphosis of The Korner Pub, aptly located at the corner of Washington and Bower Hills roads, is underway. The Korner Pub closed in March 2022, after 80 years as a favorite neighborhood hangout, with a slight 2014 revamp.
The revamped bar, now named Arthur’s Korner Pub, is slated to open this summer. Galley Group, owner/operator of Galley Bakery Square and Federal Galley on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, at the helm.
“As guests of the former Korner Pub we inquired immediately upon hearing of the closure, but it had already been spoken for at that time,” said Galley CEO Chad Ellingboe. “We had been on the search for a neighborhood corner bar for some time and the space, neighborhood and nostalgia of it all aligned.”
Patrons of the new Arthur’s Korner Pub can expect pizza and beer, grab-and-go options, a simple cocktail and wine list and the smell of freshly popped popcorn. Beer was the only thing the old Korner Pub served, besides hard seltzer and, occasionally, cider.
The furniture and fixtures are getting an update, gaming equipment is being refurbished, and TVs will be installed throughout the bar for guests to follow local teams.
