Café Flore is your newest spot for single-origin coffee, expertly crafted espresso, ceremonial grade matcha, homemade soups and sandwiches, and many other café staples with a French influence.

The name is an Americanized version of Café de Flore, one of the oldest and most popular cafés in Paris, and translates to “flower café.”

Owner Bailey Grabowski grew up on Kenmont Avenue, graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2015, and said returning to the area to open her business “just felt right.” She remembers walking to her storefront when it used to be CC’s Homemade Food to get breakfast with her dad. “Growing up here, I always loved the area. It’s always been home,” said Grabowski.

The Café Flore owner has 10 years of industry experience, starting out as a barista at age 17. A trained chef, she learned the ins and outs of running a successful coffee shop while working at the Grounded Café in Pittsburgh. Grabowski worked there for two years before she purchased the Green Tree business in 2020.

At the Grounded Café, Grabowski learned how to choose quality coffee beans, traditional European techniques, methods for brewing the perfect espresso and foam, and the importance of developing good relationships with local roasteries, including 19 Coffee Company and Deeper Roots.

While Grabowski still owns Grounded Café,  Café Flore allowed her to remake the coffee shop as her own, rather than a business she took over.

Café Flore offers a varied menu including a full drip coffee and tea bar, classic espresso-based drinks, Reese’s lattes and other fun specialty creations, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, soups and artisan pastries. “Everything is homemade. That’s a huge thing,” said Grabowski.
