t. Lebanon native Abi Falcioni (high school class of 2009) left the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in international business and stepped into a career that included working on the American Eagle Mexican team. She was looking for a new challenge, something that would incorporate her love of plants and gardening.

In 2018, she began working in the plant industry, securing certification under the Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist program. In 2020 she left the corporate world and started the Perrico Plant Company, which sells houseplants online. This year, Falcioni launched Perrico Gardens, a design business that focuses on beginning gardeners.

“A lot of new home gardeners don’t know where to start when it comes to creating a cohesive design for their yards,” she said. “My goal is to help clients design their landscapes and shop for plants at local nurseries confidently so they can be self-sufficient with their gardening in the future.”

Falcioni begins with a home visit, to scope out your garden space and discuss what would work best. Included in the consultation is a four-season maintenance plan.

Following the home visit, Falcioni can accompany her clients to a garden center and plant nursery to select the best plants.

Before and after.

“If you’ve never visited a plant nursery, it can be pretty intimidating in itself,” she said.

She also offers conceptual site drawings to help clients better visualize their space and use the drawings as a roadmap for
the future.

“I want my clients to feel confident in planting their garden beds and have success planning out their spaces.”
