St. Clair Health tops in technology

St. Clair Health is being honored for its dedication to excellence in digital health.

For the 11th consecutive year, the health system was named a Digital Health Most Wired hospital by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

Health care information technology leaders displaying the highest and most innovative use of technology at their respective organizations are awarded a Level 9 or 10.  St. Clair Health was once again recognized as Certified Level 9, making it one of only 91 among more than 38,000 organizations surveyed by CHIME to be awarded a Level 9 or 10 rating in the Acute category.

With digital health increasingly determining the quality of patient care, the use of advanced IT enables health systems to continue improving the delivery of health care in the communities they serve. This year’s survey results reflect St. Clair Health’s advancement in areas such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement.

“Patients in communities around the world receive better care when hospitals and health systems drive change through digital transformation, as St. Clair Health has proven through its success in this rigorous program,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell.

St. Clair Health has received a number of accolades in recent years, including earning 20 consecutive ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group, placing St. Clair among the top 1.1 percent of hospitals in America, as well as being ranked among the best hospitals in Pennsylvania by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek.

St. Clair Health is a nationally recognized, integrated health system with more than 2,500 employees and 600 physicians serving 500,000 residents of the region. For more information, visit stclair.org.
