St. Clair Checkup

Dr. G. Alan Yeasted will transition from St. Clair’s Chief Medical Officer to Senior Vice President, CMO Emeritus.

After 17 distinguished years as Chief Medical Officer at St. Clair Hospital, G. Alan Yeasted, M.D., F.A.C.P. recently stepped away from his day-to-day duties of CMO. Fortunately, Dr. Yeasted is not leaving St. Clair, where he played a central role in leading the hospital through unprecedented growth and achievement during his tenure.

“I’m proud of the fact that we’ve been able to provide the South Hills community with university quality medicine within a warm, caring environment and that we built our medical staff into a highly qualified one with top notch specialists,” Dr. Yeasted says. “We made the pursuit of excellence our goal and we achieved status as a 100 Top Hospital. St. Clair strives to be in the top 10 percent nationally for quality in everything we do, which is remarkable.”

St. Clair’s recent selection as a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network is especially satisfying, Dr. Yeasted says. “It’s an honor that we were in a position to be chosen by an organization that is so highly selective. We’ve worked hard and we’ve been extremely successful in the clinical arena, with sound financial footing.”

Dr. Yeasted, whose new title is Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer Emeritus, will continue seeing patients in his primary care practice and will work closely with the St. Clair Hospital Foundation on fundraising, community relations and special projects. He is looking forward to St. Clair’s continued success under new medical leadership. “We will continue to thrive and we will excel.”

Dr. Yeasted, a Mt. Lebanon resident, is the recipient of numerous honors and awards. In December, he received the Laureate Award from the Pennsylvania American College of Physicians. It is the highest honor given by that organization.
