For more than a century, the Santa Monica Pier has been a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Located at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, it marks the end of Route 66, and you are greeted by its iconic sign.

The people-watching was fun, and with the sound of steel drums and reggae filling the air, we chose to ride the iconic roller coaster.

My visit was in late February, on a weekday evening so the crowds were lighter and we had a blast.
