BREW FEST Be sure to check out this year’s Brew Fest, a fundraiser for the Mt. Lebanon Veterans Memorial and Outreach Teen & Family Services, Saturday, September 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clearview Common. This year’s event, presented by Mt. Lebanon Municipality and the Sunrise Rotary and sponsored by Howard Hanna Real Estate Mt. Lebanon, features a variety of craft beers, including the Brew Fest debut of Hop City’s Barking Squirrel, entertainment by Uptown Rhythm and Brass, a raffle and a 50/50 drawing. Raffle items include: donated by Truver’s Jewelry & Repair, an 18-inch, 6 to 6 ½ millimeter cultured pearl strand with 14 carat yellow gold clasp, retail value $600. Also, a weeklong stay at a condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, a $4,500 value, with a $500 air fare voucher donated by Bill Few & Associates, and a Spirit E-310 grill valued at $500 by Rollier’s.

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION Bands! Floats! Celebrities! Hey, a 100th birthday deserves a big party! At 3 p.m., Saturday, September 8, a centennial parade will kick off on Washington Road at the intersection of Cochran Road and proceed through the business district to Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Once the parade has ended, there will be an all-ages community party along Washington Road between Shady Drive and Lebanon Avenue with food, music by Uptown Rhythm and Brass, family activities, shopping and more. The Mt. Lebanon History Center, just off Washington Road on Lebanon Avenue, will be open that afternoon until 7 p.m., so make sure to stop in to see the exhibit “Mt. Lebanon: the First 100 Years” and get a Mt. Lebanon book or T-shirt while you’re there.
SUNNY FUNNY FUN Since the 1970s, Howe School on Broadmoor Avenue has hosted the Sunny Funny Fair, a day of carnival games, food, prizes and gift basket raffles. This year’s fair is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, September 29. And don’t be fooled by the name, the event is held rainy or shiny. Tickets are available at the door and proceeds benefit the Howe School PTA.
