Peters Lake

Peters Lake is picturesque reservoir located a short distance from Mt. Lebanon in neighboring Peters Township. The earthen dam was constructed in the early 1930s as a source of fresh drinking water for the area’s growing population. The surrounding rolling hills are heavily wooded with a variety of hardwood and conifer trees and with little development in the past nine decades.

A somewhat compact park, Peters Lake offers a wide range of activities to take advantage of any time of the year.

If your vibe is quite contemplation, there are benches around the lake for mending your chakra.

Additionally there are two launch areas for kayaks and boats, a pier for fishing, and a winding walking trail for an easy 3/4-mile stroll.

If you’re looking for a new spot to walk your dog — or cat — there are lots of great sniffing options for your buddy. Or perhaps you want to toss a Frisbee, do a photoshoot or find a visually delightful picnic spot. Regardless of the activity, Peters Lake is an excellent choice for your next adventure.
