Our new content creator

Hi, all! I’m Stephanie Hacke, the new content creator for the Mt. Lebanon Magazine.

I’m South Hills born and raised. I spend more time shopping than I care to admit. Oh, and I’m obsessed with running, Disney and puppies.

A little more about me: I’ve been a writer for more than a decade, with a focus on municipal and school government.

I have a dual degree from the University of Pittsburgh in communications and journalism.

For nearly a decade, I wrote about the South Hills for Trib Total Media and its publications. While there, I wrote about everything from taxes to housing, and I even dabbled in garbage and sewer coverage. Really, I wrote about anything that affected people.

That’s my favorite part of writing: I get to meet the most incredible people and share their fascinating stories with the world.

For the last four years, I’ve worked as a freelance writer and communicator. During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to tell even more amazing stories on an even wider variety of platforms.

So, how did I get here?

I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and skillset (I mean, I got five certifications during COVID quarantine solely out of the desire to learn!)

I’ve always loved Mt. Lebanon and its quaint neighborhoods and all of the kind souls that live here. This summer, a dear friend moved to Lebo and I got to know the community even better.

From Uptown Coffee to the Galleria, I love it all.

But again, it was the people that made me fall in love with this community – the friendly faces and smiles always made me feel welcome.

So, I’m excited to expand my horizons in this new role, while telling the stories that matter to you.
