Anne John, Elm Spring Road, a private practitioner with the law firm of John & John in Uniontown, is the incoming president of the 26,000-member Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA). She will become the association’s president in 2019.John has served as co-chair of the PBA Shale Energy Law Committee. She is the 2017-18 chair and 2016-17 co-vice chair of the PBA Review and Certifying Board. Since 2012, she has served as chair of the PBA House of Delegates Draft Committee. She also served as a member of the PBA Diversity Team at the time of its inception. John is a graduate of Dickinson College and Dickinson School of Law.

Lincoln School fourth-grader Xerin Qireyffah was a winner in the WQED KIDS Writers Contest. Qireyffah’s story, Kiera, which she also illustrated, is about a beaver that overcomes her fear of water to become a lifeguard. She took second place in the fourth-grade competition.
Noretta Willig, a long-time resident of Mt. Lebanon, wrote a book to honor her uncle, Carl Willig, who was killed in World War I. The book, Carl’s Story, begins with his death in combat, on September 16, 1918. Willig’s remains were not recovered at the time of his death. It wasn’t until 90 years later that the remains were found and identified. The book details the work of the Department of Defense’s Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, which works to identify and return the remains of the more than 90,000 service members who are listed as missing in action.

BIG PRINT Knepper Press, mtl’s printer, has almost doubled its Findlay Township space, from 100,000 to 175,000 square feet. The company is owned by Ted Ford, Valleyview Road, and Bill Knepper, a fifth generation member of the family that founded the printing company in 1873.
“The growing demand from local companies and universities for our print, warehousing and fulfillment solutions motivated us to add this additional space,” says Ford. “Plus our location on airport property has been a winning location.”
Ford says the expansion makes Knepper the largest print and mailing facility in the region.In addition to web, sheet-fed and digital printing, Knepper Press also provides mailing, marketing support, document management logistics and integrated website ordering.
