The Thien Vien Van Hanh Monastery is located in Dormont at 1641 Potomac Avenue, the former home of the Dormont United Methodist Church, which closed in 2014.
Opened in 2017, the temple is hard to miss with its sunny yellow exterior and its large Buddhist statues out front. The interior is painted in hues of saffron and maroon, with depictions of Buddha in various forms and it still retains the large Gothic stained-glass windows.
Photographer Robert Papke paid a visit to this beautiful structure. Scroll down to take a look inside.
