new on patrol

Last month, we explained how the police department recruits and hires police officers. Now, we can share the names of all six officers who are in various stages of the process of becoming sworn officers.

Mark Casagrande and John O’Connor are on patrol after completing three to four months of field training, where they worked with other officers to learn the town and Mt. Lebanon’s procedures. Zachary Burke and Hayley Barto are in field training, and Jacob Elk and Matthew Bradburn are attending the Allegheny County Police Academy.

At the end of their six months of studies, they will begin field training. Once out on patrol, everyone is a probationary officer for one year.

In order: Officers Haley Barto, Matt Bradburn, Jacob Elk, Zachary Burke, Mark Casagrande and John O’Connor
