For anyone who has seen the much-loved classic A Christmas Story, who can forget Flick, the character who gets his tongue stuck on a pole on a triple dog dare? Mellon Middle Schooler Colin Bozick, Vernon Drive, portrays Flick in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s production of Philip Grecian’s A Christmas Story, now through December 23.

The movie has delighted audiences for 40 years. Now, five performances of the play have been added to meet demand.

For the past two school years, Bozick, 11, has participated in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest.  Last year, he received an honorable mention and was invited to audition for A Christmas Story, where he’s one of 10 child actors performing six days a week for a total of 24 shows.

The sixth-grader has been seen in other plays with Prime Stage Theater, Little Lake Theater, and South Park Children’s Theater.
