memorial lecture series

Longtime library supporter Joseph Wertheim died in 2012 at age 62. An avid reader, Wertheim served nine years on the library board, including a term as president, and served many years as president of the Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Library. His memory is being honored through the Joseph Wertheim Memorial Author Lecture Series, at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, beginning this month. The series is supported by donations to the library in his memory.

Lisa Scottoline, New York Times bestselling author and Edgar Award winner, will be the inaugural speaker at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at Mellon Middle School Auditorium. Scottoline has written more than 20 novels. In addition, she and her daughter Francesca Serritella write Chick Wit, a weekly column, for the Philadelphia Inquirer. The latest published collection of these columns is Have a Nice Guilt Trip; Scottoline’s most recent suspense novels are Accused and Keep Quiet.
