ladies who lunge
So, you want to shed some pounds before the Mt. Lebanon pool reopens and you are forced out of your bulky sweaters and Uggs or perhaps even your <gasp> sweatpants? Now is the time to start so that you can unwrap a healthier and slimmer body when the weather warms up. I have designed a few at-home workouts to get you started on the right path. And, since you are probably just as busy as I am, these can all be done in the privacy of your own home.
The Weekend Warrior Workout:
Warm up for three to five minutes. Then, do this sequence:
*20 Jumping Jacks, 20 Alternating Lunges, 20 Crunches
*Rest for 30 seconds
*10 Jumping Jacks, 10 Alternating Lunges, 10 Crunches
*Rest for 30 seconds
*30 Jumping Jacks, 30 Alternating Lunges, 30 Crunches
*Rest for 30 seconds
*10 Jumping Jacks, 10 Alternating Lunges, 10 Crunches
*Stretch
The Butt Blaster:
Warm up for three to five minutes then complete five rounds of these five exercises. Rest for one minute at the end of the five exercises, which should be done in rapid succession. Each cycle, you will add 10 reps. So, the first cycle is 10 and then 20, 30, 40 and finally 50.
*Sumo Squat
*Alternating Lunges
*Burpees
*Alternating Leg Lifts from a Plank Position
*Hip Lifts From a Supine (on your back) position
