One more Washington Road dining option is open for business.

La Pizzetta, a pizza and pasta place, has moved into the spot vacated by Badamo’s Pizza, 656 Washington Road.

Wife and husband owners Lizeth Villa and Luca Origoni plan to serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

Villa is from Venezuela, and met Origoni when she was studying in Italy. The couple lived in Italy until the engineering company Origoni works for transferred him to Pittsburgh 13 years ago. Villa will oversee the day-to-day operations, while Origoni is responsible for making the sauce and the dough.

“We want to bring people real Italian pizza,” said Villa, who also noted that the menu will evolve and expand over time.

“We want to see what people want.”
