junior commissioner’s report

Here is Mark’s report from the March 12 commission meeting.

The Environmental Club does a great job of collecting and recycling printer cartridges from the high school teachers, staff members, and administrators. They also collect the ink cartridges from the School District Administrators and staff members too. The refund that the club receives goes to cover the cost of various “green” activities that they plan throughout the school year.

Everyone is invited to attend the Evening Theatre Company performance of “A Tale of Two Cities” on March 20-23 at 7:30 pm in the Mt. Lebanon High School auditorium.

Two seniors were recently recognized as outstanding in their sport: Katie Ford won the WPIAL 50 meter freestyle event and Bea Goodyear won the KDKA Extra Effort award.

Right this minute our girls varsity basketball team is playing Penn Trafford as they continue their drive towards the PIAA state basketball championship game.

The Spring Spirit Assembly will occur at the end of this month and in conjunction with that event, the PTSA will be sponsoring a free breakfast for each grade. It is always a fun time when the students can share breakfast with their fellow classmates and start the day with a delicious meal.

Spring break will occur on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1st. Everyone is looking forward to relaxing after working so hard in their classes and extracurricular activities.
