it’s raining again. oh no. it’s hard to pretend

It’s raining, it’s pouring… but no one is snoring. They are whining. Loudly. What to do? If you just can’t handle staying cooped up with the kids, there are several local options to get you out of the house!

See Saw Center – an indoor play center for children 0-5 years. http://seesawcenter.org

E2 Toys 2 Try – an indoor play center and toy store for children 0-5 years. http://www.toys2try.com/

Snapology – a lego play center. For toddlers, preschoolers, and school aged kids. http://www.snapology.com/

Lilliput Playhomes – The maker of luxury play homes has an indoor “town” where children can play. http://www.lilliputplayhomes.com/detail-townhall.asp

Gymsport – A local gymnastics center, Gymsport offers a preschool playtime on Mondays and Tuesdays for children 5 and under. www.gymsport.com

The Galleria – Get a snack and bring a game, craft, or coloring books and relax in one of the seating areas in the Galleria for a change of scenery

South Hills Village Mall – Besides the food court, the mall has an indoor play space for infants and preschoolers.

USC Rec Center – For $12, you gain access to the indoor pool area, which has a zero-entry, water slides, and a lazy river. Guaranteed fun for every age!

Libraries – The Mt. Lebanon Library has weekly programming for kids of all ages and nice areas for reading together. The Upper St. Clair children’ library has area with toys for children to play with. Both are crowd pleasers!

Pittsburgh:

Carnegie Science Center: Great for kids of all ages, there is a large area for toddlers, daily programing for kids, sports works, and the train display, among other exhibits. http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org/

Carnegie Museum of Natural History: Visit the dinosaurs, see the dioramas, and view the amazing gemstone exhibit. http://www.carnegiemnh.org/
