Pittsburgh’s favorite gift extravaganza, Handmade Arcade, is Saturday, December 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the David Lawrence Convention Center. Admission is free, but if you’d like to start shopping at 10 a.m. and leave with a goodie bag, you can purchase an Early Bird Ticket for $15.
The arcade will host 160 vendors from across the country, including many Mt. Lebanon and South Hills-based artists. Patrons can expect to see a wide-range of work, including jewelry and accessories, illustrations, home décor, clothing, body products and wood work. Artists will demonstrate their work and a DJ will get the vibe going with music.”
“What’s wonderful is you get to meet all of the makers. You can ask them questions about their process and materials,” says Jennifer Barron, a co-director of the event. “A lot of the products are limited edition so you won’t necessarily ever find the same exact thing again. We try to curate it in a way so that people are seeing new things and new artists every year.”
