Historical Society Walking Tours

he Historical Society of Mount Lebanon is hosting a series of walking tours this summer and fall. Tickets are $10 for society members and $15 for non-members. History & Commerce Tour 10 a.m., Saturday, June 15
This 90-minute tour explores the architecture of Mt. Lebanon’s main business district, and the history of Mt. Lebanon, including a tour of the Art Deco interior of the municipal building. Meet at the history center, 794 Washington Road.
Virginia Manor Tour 10 a.m., Saturday, August 10
This 90-minute tour explores the history and architecture of one of Mt. Lebanon’s grandest neighborhoods. Put on your walking shoes; the tour covers about a mile and a half. Meet at the entrance to Virginia Manor, the intersection of Cochran and Osage roads.
Mission Hills Tour with John Conti 10 a.m., Saturday, September 7
Learn about the history and architecture of Mission Hills with architectural writer John Conti. The tour begins with a slideshow at the history center, and a walk down two key Mission Hills streets.
Mt. Lebanon Cemetery Slideshow Tour 1 p.m., Saturday, October 26
In this no-walking tour, learn the history of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in a slideshow. Attendees will receive a walking tour map with the sites and can explore the cemetery on their own. Meet at the History Center, 794 Washington Road.
