The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon (HSMTL) will host We Can Do It!, the Senator John Heinz History Center’s Traveling Exhibit about the impact World War II had on the Pittsburgh region, from December 1, 2018, to January 29, 2019.

The exhibit was on display at the Heinz History Center in the Strip District from Spring 2015 to January 10, 2016. The traveling exhibit is at the Beaver Area Heritage Museum through June 11, and then will move to the Butler County and Erie County historical societies for the remainder of the year.

HSMTL president Jim Wojcik says the late 2018 will give the society time to complete the restoration of Mt. Lebanon’s historical society headquarters at the corner of Washington Road and Lebanon Avenue., and be sure the exhibit is properly installed, staffed and promoted. The historic Spanish-style building currently is closed and its collection in storage, as the transformation takes place.

Hosting this sort of major exhibition, along with more space for storage, administrative functions, meeting and even small receptions are among the things the HSMTL’s new home will provide. “We could not even think about hosting this exhibit in our old space,” Wojcik says.
