Mt. Lebanon High School Principal Brian McFeely  reports that construction for the new high school/renovation building project continues to progress as planned. The  information that follows is excerpted from a letter Mr. McFeely sent parents regarding traffic closures at the site.

Many residents who do not have children at the high school are accustomed to using the roads around the school to travel to the  park  or recreation center. Please review this information and plan your route accordingly.

—Beginning August 13, Horsman Drive will be closed from Cochran Road to the South Parking Lot (section of road in front of the A-3 (auditorium) entrance. This closure will likely be in effect until the first day of school.

— The South Parking Lot will continue to be closed until the first day of school.

—Horsman Drive from Stadium Drive to Lebanon Avenue (section of road above high school stadium) will continue to remain closed through the remainder of the project.

— Mt. Lebanon Park, the recreation center,  The high school stadium and the field house are accessible from Morgan Drive via Cedar Boulevard only. Because of construction zones in the south parking lot and on Horsman Drive, it is not possible to reach any of these areas by coming through the school property from Cochran Road.

—Students meeting with guidance counselors or attending sports practice, along with  parents/visitors who need to visit the high school for an extended time during the weeks of August 13 and 20 should park  in the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church Parking Lot (intersection at Cochran and Washington Roads), the Commissioners’ Parking Lot (school district-designated spaces only), and Dixon Field Parking Lot.  Short-term visitor and handicap parking continues to be available in the North Parking Lot (Lebanon Avenue).

—The North Parking Lot will serve as a drop-off/pick-up location for  the high school building. To enter the North Lot, vehicles should make a left off of Lebanon Avenue onto Horsman Drive and turn left into the  North Lot.

—Prior to the start of school, please enter the high school building, through entrances  A-1 (main entrance on Cochran Road) A-3 (auditorium entrance), or D-44 (North Parking Lot).  The Cochran Road entrance in front of the auditorium will be closed until the first day of school.
