Look for Katie Witucki’s Sweat Pittsburgh fitness center at Siena at St. Clair

WORK UP A SWEAT Katie Witucki, Seneca Drive, (fifth from left above) will open Sweat Pittsburgh, a gym and fitness center, this fall in Siena at St. Clair. The studio will offer cycle, barre, and yoga classes. Cycle classes will focus on effort and how participants feel rather than just on calories burned. The barre classes are a cardio workout focused on toning and tightening. The yoga classes sculpt the body and build strength using weights. Michele Larson, HM Insurance marketing director

Michele Larson, McFarland Road, has been promoted to director of marketing and communications for HM Insurance Group. Larson is responsible for the company’s integrated marketing communications strategy development and the execution of advertising, public and media relations, direct marketing, digital initiatives, graphic design, corporate communications and internal communications. She has been with the company since 2012. Most recently, she was HM Insurance Group’s manager of digital marketing and visual design.

WE GOT ANNIE Stage 62, the community theater group based out of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, will present Annie for eight performances, November 9 to 12 and November 16 to 19, and both actresses in the title role are from Mt. Lebanon!

Nora Hoyle, a 12-year-old sixth-grader at St. Bernard School, will play Annie for the majority of the run. Her understudy, Choe Griffin, who is in fifth grade at Jefferson Elementary School, will take the stage as Annie for one performance on Friday, November 10. She will appear in the children’s ensemble during the other performances.

Chloe GriffinThe cast consists of 12 children playing orphans and 26 adults from the South Hills and beyond. Stage 62 chose Annie in honor of the 40-year anniversary of its original Broadway premiere. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Visit www.Stage62.com for more info.

FAMILY BREWERY Matt McMahon, a 1998 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, has opened 11th Hour Brewing Co. in a 145-year-old building in Lawrenceville, at 3711 Charlotte Street. The 20-barrel brew house’s taproom features 12 house brews, mead and wine.

McMahon’s family is deeply involved in the venture. His wife, Keana, is vice president, marketing and creative director; stepson Justin Strzelczyk is assistant brewer; his brother Mark (also a Lebo grad) is in charge of sales and distribution. The company hopes to supply beer to local restaurants sometime this year.
