Christopher Mark Jones, Jefferson Drive, released a new album, Incantations, this year. His music is a variety of different styles based on the acoustic styles of folk, Americana, blues and roots. The album includes multiple themes, such as generation songs, periods in a relationship, passage of time and vignettes. “Incantations the title song is my favorite because of the flow and not so obvious nature of the song,” Jones says.
Jones is publishing a book of lyrics from all his albums, due out in mid-October. Traveling, doing concerts, writing, recording and working on other people’s recording projects is where Jones sees his musical future. He takes pleasure in each step but recording is Jones’ favorite part of the process. “I see my music as a way of interacting through social and political aspects. They are small stories with a variety of points of views where I strive for musical pleasure, independent perception and small stories that are striking,” Jones says. www.christophermarkjones.com/index.html
