Dereck Jancisin, Rock Haven Lane, has been appointed to the board of directors of Southwinds, a nonprofit organization that provides community living arrangements and life skills training for South Hills adults who are intellectually and developmentally disabled. Jancisin, a chartered retirement planning counselor and a certified special needs advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Company, is a graduate of Columbia University.
Michael Sexauer, Parker Drive, has been promoted to vice president of administration for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. In his new post, Sexauer oversees corporate fundraising, membership and individual giving, finance, marketing and operations. The Parks Conservancy created the new position to meet the changing needs of the now 16 year old organization, which has raised more than $55 million since its inception. Sexauer, who joined the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy in 2009, worked previously as director of marketing for Phipps Conservatory and has held positions in marketing and advertising for PNC Bank, First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Piper Drive resident Connor Hayes, a senior at Seton-La Salle Catholic High School, has been named a finalist in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. Hayes, the son of Kevin Hayes and Maureen Kelly, served as Mt. Lebanon’s junior commissioner for the first semester of the 2011-2012 school year.
Kayce Dewey, Mt. Lebanon Class of 2000, is the president and co-founder of Find Festival Jobs. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2003 with a degree in theater arts, Dewey spent the next several years on the festival circuit, working seasonal positions in film, dance and performing arts. It was from this experience that she got the idea for Find Festival Jobs, an online clearinghouse for festival employers and job seekers.
