have you seen the flat firefighters?

The life-sized, standup figures of six of Mt. Lebanon’s volunteer firefighters are on duty in various prominent locations around town as part of the fire department’s volunteer recruitment campaign. If you scan the QR code on the firefighter’s shoulder, you’ll see a video of that volunteer talking about the benefits and rewards of serving the community.

And now, you can be rewarded for finding all six firefighters.

Kenneth Loy firemanSimply take a picture of your child (or family) with each of the six Flat Firefighters and post your pictures to the department’s Facebook or Twitter with Your Name and the hashtag #mtlfd or email the pictures to firecontest@mtlebanon.org, between March 1 and May 31 and you could win a free birthday party for 12 at the fire station.

Here’s what the winner will get: a three-hour party for 12 children 12 and younger at the fire department within one year, complete with pizza, cake, ice cream, soft drinks, paper products, stickers, helmets and a visit with Sparky the fire dog, a ride on the fire truck and pictures with the firefighters.

Fire Chief Nick Sohyda will draw the winning entry from all of the correct entries (ones that include a picture with each of the six figures) on June 1.

And remember, these are pictures with the figures, not the actual firefighters. If you find any of the real deal around Mt. Lebanon, just say “Thank you for serving!”
