In this freezing winter chill, it’s hard to remember how beautiful Plein Air Mt. Lebanon was in October, but let us refresh your memory…it was 80 degrees and sunny much of the week. Sigh. During the week of the festival, presented by the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, volunteers and artists coordinated many events, demonstrations and fundraisers to help bring art to town. And now, it’s time for them to give back.
The Mt. Lebanon Arts Initiative, the grant distribution arm of the Partnership, will award two to four grants from a pool of $3,000 raised during Plein Air. Youth and adult artists who live in Mt. Lebanon may apply for the grants, which are meant to help the artist produce new work to enrich his or her talent and the community. Each award winner will need to share the piece in a public forum of his or her choosing.
Categories include: music, dance, film/digital arts, visual arts and theater arts. Applications, which will be accepted February 1 through March 1, will be judged by a review panel with a range of arts experience.
