Canandaigua Lak [1]e is the fourth-largest in the Finger Lake chain and is located in Upstate New York. Canandaigua is about a five hour drive from Pittsburgh—located an hour drive south of Rochester. The lake’s name is derived from the language of the Senca Nation and translates to “The Choosed Spot.”
The bucolic beauty of the countryside in the lake region is bountiful, as are fresh fruit and produce stands and vineyards. There are plenty of other activities to explore such as antiquing, golfing and hiking. However, the main event is the Lake itself. Boasting deep, crystal clear waters that stretch for miles, Canandaigua offers it all, pleasure boating, tubing, water skiing, fishing and of course swimming.
This is a fun family summer getaway—we certainly had a nice time when we went last year. I hope you enjoy these photos.
