At this week’s staff meeting, municipal employees discussed what’s happening in the town.

* A town hall meeting is scheduled for July 9 at 7 p.m. in Commission Chambers to discuss Deer Management.

* On Sunday, June 10, the Rec Department had its famous “Daddy/Daughter Dinner Dance,” with 188 people doing the chicken dance, hokey pokey and YMCA dances.

* The senior summer hockey league starts next week and still has openings.

* Admissions rebounded from the cold weather and the pool has sold close to last year’s total in passes–$159,000 worth.

* Chief Inspector Joe Berkley reported he has hired a Code Enforcement Officer to replace Doug Baird, who left to take another job. Phil Quattrone will start June 25.

* Deputy Police Chief Mike Gallagher said a car was stolen from Kenmont Drive. The owner had left it unlocked with the keys in the glove box. The car was recovered several hours later in Dormont, but it was completely beaten up. Lock up those cars, people.

* Public works is continuing to vaccinate trees against the Emerald Ash Borer pest.
