First to last but in a good way

For almost 20 years, First Fridays have been a constant on the summer calendar. Commercial Districts Manager Eric Milliron thought it was time to switch things up a bit, so this year, the iconic Washington Road street party will make a move, but still keep the alliteration: Final Fridays are coming up this summer on June 27, July 25 and August 29.
“We’ve been looking for a refresh,” said Milliron, who works with the Mt. Lebanon Partnership to produce the events, which include concerts in Clearview Common. “We would almost always run into a conflict in July, with the holiday weekend. The easiest way to solve that is to move the date back.”
In addition to the date change, Milliron is looking to expand the diversity of the acts, and is working on an online survey asking for recommendations. Other changes are under consideration, including ways for businesses to be more involved.
The big news: Mt. Lebanon is partnering with WYEP to present the July 25 concert, featuring a yet-to-be-named regional act. The municipality has partnered with WYEP in the past, with Clearview Common serving as a venue for the radio station’s singer-songwriter competition. Since that competition ended in 2021, Milliron has been open to finding other opportunities to work with the station.
You can find more information on Final Fridays, including a list of performers and any changes to the event, in upcoming issues of Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
