At the annual reorganizational meeting of the Mt. Lebanon Commissioners, the board unanimously elected Matt Kluck, who represents Ward 2, president, and Kristen Linfante, who represents Ward 3, vice president.
Junior commissioner Mark Klemencic, a senior at Mt. Lebanon high school, gave a report on activities at the high school, most of which centered on extensively successful fundraising efforts, especially for those hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.
Commissioners then approved a long list of bids for contracts and equipment, including:
* a traffic control life truck from Tri-Star Motors for $118,808.90
* a chemical root treatment program to Duke’s Root Control, Inc. ($65,750)
* Sewer point repair to Niando Construction
* Sanitary sewer lining to United Survey for $777,850
* Manhole rehabilitation to Lake County Sewer for $310,293
* Sanitary sewer televising and cleaning to AAA Flexible Pipe for $127,634.45.
Additionally, the commission had to ratify the municipal manager’s sale of a 1999 Ford F-550 dump truck because the estimated sales value was $7,000, but it sold at auction for $10,465. The commission must approve the sale of any item for more than $7,500.
