Hi there, Mt. Lebanon Magazine readers!

I’m thrilled to be starting my role as assistant public information officer for Mt. Lebanon and senior/online editor of Mt. Lebanon Magazine. My job is connecting with you and providing crucial information to help our municipality thrive. I’ll be writing about some of my personal interests for the Magazine, which include live music, anything involving animals and unique new restaurants, of course, with a Mt. Lebanon twist.

A little more about me: I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, specifically in Summer Hill and Shaler. Recently, I made the move to the Upper St. Clair with my two cats, Pinto and Kiwi. While I know for many crossing the invisible line between the North and South Hills seems rare, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know this side of Pittsburgh this past year. Mt. Lebanon quickly became my new favorite neighborhood, with the beautiful tree-lined brick streets, historic homes, walkable residential areas and business districts, and a strong sense of community.

I lived in Washington, D.C. for four years while earning my Bachelor of Arts in political science from American University. What I always loved most about the city was the dozens of free museums, monuments and art galleries (emphasis on the free part, which was very important to a cash-strapped college student looking for things to do that didn’t involve studying.)

I enjoy travelling to new cities as often as I can—in the past few years I’ve been to Havana, London, Aspen, Seattle and Chicago, to name a few. Hopefully soon I can go on a multi-city trip through Europe, which has always been high on my bucket list. However, on a typical weekend, you can probably find me trying out new recipes from my TikTok feed, walking dogs at a local animal shelter or spending time with family.

My professional journey has woven through roles in government, communications and nonprofits; but my heart has always been drawn to writing, especially when it comes to shedding light on community issues. That’s why I feel so privileged to be here, ready to share and amplify the stories that matter most to all of us.
