Mt. Lebanon — This is Home

Welcome to our March edition, which is the first of our two annual spring Home and Garden issues. In addition to our signature robust advertising guide, you’ll find stories on things you’ll need to know to keep your home life running smoothly.

If you’re a new resident, Merle Jantz’s story on what newcomers need to know is especially helpful. As Mt. Lebanon’s public information officer, I field lots of calls and emails every day from people who are new residents (or who want to be). I love getting to welcome these newcomers to our beautiful, caring, walking community. Merle’s story includes the answers to the most-asked questions we get.

The Mt. Lebanon Public Information Office puts together a lot of information for new residents. A good place to start is the webpage: mtlebanon.org/newresidents. We also suggest that you sign up today for nonemergency alerts (road closures, cancellations, important deadlines, community events) at mylebo.mtlebanon.org. And text LEBO to 99411 to set up your LeboEmergency alerts, so we can call, text or email you if you need to take action during a life-threatening incident.

Stay in the know about current events and important information that affects you by streaming our podcast, Inside Lebo, available wherever you get your podcasts. Please visit our websites, at mtlebanon.org and lebomag.com, for the “what” and “why” of living in Mt. Lebanon. Sign up for our push email newsletter, Seven Ten, and get bi-weekly news updates. And of course, you’ll receive the magazine in your home 10 times a year, with valuable local government news, information about how your tax dollars are being spent, the lowdown on the latest businesses in Mt. Lebanon and features about what your neighbors are up to.

That sounds like a lot of work. It is, and we love it. But we need you to do some work as well. Please stay connected to your community by reading this information. Share it with your friends, neighbors, book group and softball team. If there’s a new way you’d like to receive your information, let us know. We aim to deliver the information the way you want to read it/hear it/see it. But the rest is up to you.
