HOLIDAY PERCUSSION The Mt. Lebanon Percussion Ensemble’s Holiday Bells, Mallets & Drums has been a wintertime favorite for more than 20 years. BROADWAY IN CARNEGIE Lenora Nemetz, Pittsburgh’s queen of song and dance, will showcase her amazing repertoire at Lenora! Lenora Nemetz Brings Broadway to Carnegie Carnegie, 8 p.m., Saturday, December 28, at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall.
As a teenager, Nemetz left Pittsburgh for the Great White Way and, at age 17, was cast as the replacement for Fritzie in the original Cabaret. A protégé of famed choreographer Bob Fosse, Nemetz first drew critical attention when she replaced the iconic Chita Rivera as Velma in the original Broadway production of Chicago. This summer, Nemetz starred in Side by Side by Sondheim.
The performance will be followed by a reception on all three floors of the historic landmark facility. Tickets are $125 ($90 tax deductible) for reserved seats in the orchestra and $75 ($40 tax deductible) for open seating in the balcony.
