Contemporary Craft [1], Pittsburgh’s preeminent organization dedicated to handcrafted art, moved to its new home at 5645 Butler Street in Lawrenceville in September. Contemporary Craft’s first exhibition, “The Heart Lives Through the Hands,” is a solo show of internationally renowned street artist Swoon. The new store features works by local and national artists, including Mt. Lebanon’s Kim Fox and Aileen Lampman. Timed tickets are required and free of charge.
HELPING SHIM
Since March, the South Hills Interfaith Movement [2] (SHIM) has seen a 28 percent increase in South Hills residents seeking help with basic needs, and almost half of the people visiting SHIM’s food pantries are new—meaning they could really use your help. You can volunteer by helping with the after-school program, the food pantry or hosting a drive. And of course, donations are always welcome.
VIRTUAL BOARD GAME NIGHT
Tuesdays
Play board games on Zoom with Mt. Lebanon Public Library [3]! These nights of friendly competition begin at 7 p.m., featuring party and Euro-style games for high school students and adults. Registration is required. A librarian will supervise the session, which lasts until 8:45.
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Look, we don’t know what Small Business Saturday [4] will be like this year, but we do know that it’s more important now than it has ever been to get out and support our local businesses. Traditionally, stores have discounts, restaurants have specials, and you may see sidewalk sales and other incentives as you walk through our business districts. Get out there, or get online—whichever you prefer—and show your favorite local business some love.
