Editors’ Pick: LEBO MARKETS
The Lions Club Farmers Market sets up in the parking lot of Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday through October. These rain-or-shine events feature locally grown fresh produce, food vendors and other seasonal activities and entertainment. The Uptown Market will also run through October, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. In an effort to promote more of an Uptown experience, the market will expand to include more local artists and makers, particularly on Second Saturdays, which will feature live music by Mt. Lebanon bluegrass group, the Mackin Band, and a juried selection of vendors from I Made It! Market, consisting of 10 to 15 hyperlocal artists selling gourmet food, organic bath and body products, kids’ items, woodwork and more in Clearview Common.

BANTAM JEEP FESTIVAL

Did you know that the Jeep was invented in Butler? That’s why the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival is in Butler County every year, at Coopers Lake Campground. With the goal of promoting jeep education and fellowship, the festival has three days of family-friendly outdoor activities including races, trail rides, a poker run, a jeep decoration contest, car show and more.

HANGAR DANCE
Saturday, June 8
All are welcome at the Veterans Breakfast Club’s WWII-style dance in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. The event, which is from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the hangar at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, will honor WWII veterans and feature the Swingin’ Bopcats Big Band, military rations-inspired heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

PINBALL FAMOUS

Check out the fun, upcycled-arcade artwork creations by Dan Burfield of TiltCycle at Artsmiths of Pittsburgh. In addition to the Warhol-inspired art featuring such pop icons as The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross and Lady Gaga, the exhibit will also include a selfie wall and a free-play Lord of the Rings pinball machine.

SNOWBALL DAY
Friday, June 21
If you carefully stored a snowball in your freezer last winter, this event at the Carnegie Science Center is the payoff you’ve been waiting for. Bring your snowball to the science center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to name your own admission price, plus, weather permitting, visit the Snowball Launch Site to fling your masterpiece into the Ohio River.

URBAN GARDEN PARTY: SOLSTICE

The Mattress Factory’s Urban Garden Party is one of Pittsburgh’s most anticipated galas, and this year’s solstice-themed party will not disappoint. Dance away the longest day of the year with fairies, druids, centaurs and all things mystical, plus take selfies in Stonehenge. Tickets are $95 or $75 for Mattress Factory members.

FESTA DI LIMONCELLO

Celebrate summer the Italian way at Vallozzi’s in downtown Pittsburgh. For one day only, they will transform their restaurant, outdoor patio and alleyway into a breezy scene from the Amalfi Coast, featuring house-made limoncello tastings and cocktails, street food, pizza, a DJ and more.
