Start the Halloween candy binge early by trick-or-treating with your kiddos at Uptown businesses on Saturday, October 27 following the Recreation Department’s Pumpkin Patch Parade. The parade, which begins at 11 a.m., in Uptown Mt. Lebanon, is always a great photo op and a chance for both adults and kids to try out the costumes they’ll wear on Halloween (too hot, too tight, can’t see???).

One of our favorite local artists, Academy Avenue resident Kim Fox, is being showcased in Contemporary Craft’s Handwork Gallery located in the lobby of the Steel Plaza T station downtown. This free exhibition features Fox’s untraditional quilts, created at her Worker Bird studio and inspired by her urban surroundings and the natural Pennsylvania landscape. AAP’s Annual Exhibition

Since its founding in 1910, the Annual Exhibition has become the highlight of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh’s (AAP) exhibition season. This year, the Annual Exhibition will be held at 2708 Sidney Street in the South Side and it will showcase the most recent work of selected AAP membership, which includes artists within a 150-mile radius of Pittsburgh.
