Yoga on the Lawn
Even if you are just a beginner, the 11th annual Karma Yoga event on the lawn of Southminster Presbyterian Church is a fun, enjoyable way to support a good cause. The theme for St. Clair Hospital’s 2017 Summer Swing fundraiser is “Broadway on the Green.” Held at St. Clair Country Club on Friday, July 14, the evening will feature gourmet food stations and performances from Rema Webb, who starred on Broadway in The Color Purple, The Book of Mormon and The Lion King. Allegheny 9
South Park is hosting the Allegheny 9 on Saturday, August 5, at 9 a.m. The Allegheny 9 is a series of races, one in each of the nine parks in Allegheny County, offering a mix of 5K and 10K road and trail races. Beverly Heights Spotlight
The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon is hosting a Neighborhood Spotlight tour in Beverly Heights on Saturday, August 5, at 10 a.m. The event will focus on a one-mile circuit of the area’s streets, featuring various architectural styles and many stories of the events that shaped the neighborhood. Ballet Under the Stars
The Allegheny County Summer Concert Series will present a free “Ballet Under the Stars” event featuring Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre on Sunday, August 20, at Hartwood Acres. Summer Fun with Rec
The Dive in Pool Party is Friday, July 14, at 8:15 p.m. at the Mt. Lebanon Swim Center. A movie will be shown at dusk.
Head down to Mt. Lebanon Park on Sunday, July 23, at 7:30 p.m. for a free concert in the park by Artistree, a Pittsburgh-based pop, rock and soul group.
A beach-themed Art Camp for 4- to 6-year-olds and 7- to 11-year-olds will be held from July 31 to August 4 at the Recreation Department. Activities include crafts, painting and sculpture led by local artists.
Public Safety Camp is also July 31 to August 4 for kids ages 9 to 12, and each day will feature different events related to our three public safety departments—Police, Fire and MRTSA.

Big Butler Fair
Its claim to fame is “the largest fair in Western Pennsylvania,” so if you are looking to take the kids to a fair this summer, give the Big Butler Fair a try! It’s one hour from Mt. Lebanon, with a “Kiddie Land,” free concerts, fireworks, tractor pulls and school bus demolitions—typical fair stuff—and it guarantees a change in scenery from the suburbs. Lebo Garden Tour
Want to take a peek at the most beautiful private gardens in Mt. Lebanon? Then don’t miss Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s 27th Annual Garden Tour! This year’s event has three parts. First, the pre-tour party is the night before on Saturday, July 8, at 7 p.m. featuring live entertainment, light fare and cocktails in the Library garden courtyard. The self-guided garden tour is on Sunday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pre-registration is not required (though there is a discount for registering ahead of time). Finally, a perennial sale will also be held at the library during tour hours. Community Choir Concert
As part of its Mission: Possible week, the Mt. Goodwill Fundraiser
Mt. Lebanon Marching Band is hosting a joint fundraiser with Goodwill on Friday, August 11, in the Mellon Middle School parking lot from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The marching band will receive 10 cents for every pound of items, such as clothing and home goods, donated to Goodwill on that day. Last year, the Fox Chapel High School Orchestra made over $1,000 doing the same fundraiser. The Mt. Lebanon Marching Band hopes to do better. www.LeboBand.com [29]

Cooking Matters
The Salvation Army of Pittsburgh and 412 Food Rescue are working together to present a free weekly “Cooking Matters for Parents” class. The program is six weeks long—focused on cooking and nutrition lessons and one grocery store visit—and each class is two hours long.
