KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA [2]Salute our veterans on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at the traditional parade, which begins at 10 a.m. in Brookline and concludes at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.  Finish the day at 6 p.m. at the veterans memorial in Mt. Lebanon Park with a flag ceremony and 21-gun salute led by veterans. Veteran and former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky Bleier, who co-chaired the committee that raised funds for the memorial, will be the speaker. The Mt. Lebanon High School Triple Trio will present music for the ceremony. Boy Scouts from Troop #28 along with Mt. Lebanon firefighters and veterans will place commemorative wreaths on the memorial. The ceremony will include a flag raising, a 21-gun salute and Taps by the VFW/American Legion. Also participating in the ceremony are Todd DePastino of the Veterans Breakfast Club, the Rev. David Bonner of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and the Hon. Blaise Larotonda, district justice.
